Description

Our prototype consists of a JPEG color camera (LinkSprite LS-Y201) serially connected to an Arduino Duemilanove processor. Once a photo of the visitor(s) is taken by the camera (triggered by pressing the door bell also connected to the Arduino), the image will be processed through the Arduino to the memory of a micro SD integrated in a connected Arduino Ethernet Shield. The image is then sent via the Ethernet connection through a router to a server (computer) where it is stored for usage and, depending on user preferences, forwarded to the desired location, which is basically anywhere with an Internet connection, or in direct connection to the server.

Example: Person A visits person B. Person B is not at home. The service takes a picture of Person A and sends it to person B’s server which stores it and sends it to the cell-phone of Person B.
